It has been decided to create a contact list of members that will be shared among the people on the list. This list is to be used for coordinating observing sessions, emergency contact, or general information from fellow members. You MUST sign up to be put on the list, your name will NOT be automatically listed. George Stradley, our Field Trip/Observing Chairman, will be the "keeper" of the list. To be put on the list, or to get a copy of the current list, please send George an email with the following information: name, phone numbers (home, cell, work, pager) and your zip code. If you have any questions, please ask George using the email link.
The GeorgeVolunteers list server is open to all who may be interested in maintaining routine contact with other volunteers.
To subscribe, send an e-mail, from the e-mail address you want added, to mailto:imailsrv@netslyder.net with this information in the message body: Subscribe GeorgeVolunteers your name. Example: Subscribe GeorgeVolunteers John Doe. Note: There is no space between "George" and "Volunteers". It is important to turn off any background graphics that your e-mail uses and send the message as text only, netslyder will reject any other format. A confirmation will be sent to your e-mail address indicating when you have been added to the list.
To post a message, use this address: mailto:GeorgeVolunteers@mail.netslyder.net (Caps must be used).
To unsubscribe, send a message, from the address you wish to remove, to imailsrv@netslyder.net. In the subject line, type unsubscribe. Any problems with the list server can be reported to mailto:icgalaxies@cs.com.
The HAS web site has a List Server. This is a combination of a news group and email. When you subscribe to the list server group and send an email to the list server, then all people that have subscribed will get a copy in their email in-box. This is a forum to pass ideas, explain topics in astronomy, discuss upcoming events, "how-to" discussions; anything that can be found in the traditional news groups. The difference is that the messages will come to your mail box, you do not have go to the news group to get the postings.
To subscribe:
1. Send an email to: imailsrv@netslyder.net
2. In the body of the message, put the words: subscribe haslist <your email> (without the <>)
3. Click here to subscribe.
4. To make a posting, send an email to: haslist@netslyder.net or click here, but you must have already subscribed.
5. To unsubscribe, send an email to imailsrv@netslyder.net, and in the BODY of the message write "unsubscribe haslist" only.Please observe the following guidelines when using this service:
- This service is for the posting of astronomical and club related messages only.
- Please avoid sending personal messages, which should be sent directly to the individual concerned.
- The list is primarily, but not exclusively, HAS members. Keep this in mind when making a reply.
- "For Sale" messages, by HAS members of used astronomy related equipment, are permitted. Dealer or commercial sales messages are prohibited.
- Do not send attachments with your email. Use links whenever possible.
- Use of "text only" email format is suggested.
- Use of obscene or offensive language of any sort is unacceptable. Offenders will be removed from the list.
- Collection of user email addresses for commercial or marketing purposes is prohibited.
