| I shot V4743 Nova in Sagittarius
from North Houston on 9-29-02 with a Takahashi FS-128 & a ST-8e CCD camera. Image is a 4 min. exposure. |
| This past week, there has been a large sunspot group. Some estimates have said that 10 Earths can be placed inside this solar storm. Here is an image taken by Loyd Overcash from a video camera. He is using a Meade LX200 10" and a Astrovid Video Camera. This was taken on Sept. 25, 2000. |
| The attached picture was a "frame capture" from a
video Leland Dolan took of the Sun, on December 22, 1999 about 19 hours UT. The video camera was at the prime focus of a 100mm f/8 Takahashi refractor, with a Thousand Oaks filter. The seeing was rather poor, but you can see the penumbra on the larger spots. What is unusual is the "training" of the smaller spots following the large spot towards the top (north) of the picture. | On Monday, Nov. 15,1999
Mercury passed in front of the sun, causing a transit. HAS member Loyd Overcash, using a video camera recorded the event. Using a Celestron CG-11, at f/11 at Ft. Davis, TX, Loyd captured this single frame image of Mercury. |
| Here is a "screen grab" of some video taken by Richard Nugent. You can see 3 moons of Jupiter. This is a single frame off a camcorder from Tuesday night's (Feb 23, 1999) conjunction. Taken thru a 10" Meade SCT at prime focus. |
| This image was taken by Loyd Overcash with a Celestron-11 and a video camera, from his backyard in North Houston at 5:35am. Good work Loyd! |

| Taken by Richard Nugent of
the Aldebaran Lunar Occultation on Tue July 29, 1997 at approximately 4:02AM Central Daylight time from Houston TX USA. |
| Taken by Richard Nugent, this
is a unique satellite experiment that was launched over a year ago. It is 2 "satellites" that are connected with a tether. A star appears to the left of the satellite. |
